EscapeRoute Prognosis
Design Goals
Project Overview
- EscapeRoute is an interactive online tool for mature adults living and working in the Los Angeles area to plan a one-day vacation. They can plan a one-day, or shorter, trip in order to relieve stress from work and every-day living.
- The mobile phone application is an extension of the website, giving the user the ability to view their saved trips while on the go.
Audience(age, attention, details)
- The primary audience for EscapeRoute is Baby Boomers who are living and working in the Los Angeles area. They are between the ages of 45 and 65 with strong family values. Baby Boomers are currently still working and are forced to think about the near future. They’re hard working and are always constantly looking for different ways to be stimulated.
Amount of reading
- Since it is a small phone, there is not a lot of reading. Most of the pages are very limited on text.
- The reading focus is on information for location details. This requires fitting a good about of information on one small screen so that the user has everything they need at a glance (i.e. name, location, phone number, website, etc).
Information Message
- The message of EscapeRoute is to be a convenient and easy to use mobile application that is designed for Baby Boomers by entertaining them with interesting and informative details about local vacation spots.
Current Issues
- Coding Issues
- Getting typing names without clicking first in username and password fields
- Text needs to be bigger so it is easily readable from a cellular phone. Especially in the details page
- Drop Nearby Locations on details page (?)
- Better highlight for selected section
